Pros: Great cheese pizza, crust is crispy as soon as you bite into your slice and shreds to sauce ratio is perfect.
Cons: Tap water tastes bad, pizza doesn't look appetizing sitting in the viewing area- but my oh my is it delicious when it comes out of the oven.
Tips: Eat in to get the full effect of the pizzas freshness and heavenly taste. Come during the weekday lunch specials to save a couple bucks.
I would definitely come back again! -

Before I left Gainesville I had the opportunity to eat at City Slice 3 different times! City Slice has now become one of my favorite pizza places in Gainesville and it's not just the pizza, its the Stromboli as well!
City Slice is in the location where Oggi Italian used to be. I am not sure if it is the same owners or whom directly it is, but it does still sorta feel like Oggi inside. When you walk in you see the different specials they offer. They offer pizza specials everyday of the week. They also offer $1 slices of pizza which makes them very good for the college town of Gainesville.
The pizza when you walk in is sitting out like they do at Leonardo's in town. But they put your slice in the oven and it makes it warm and good!
The Stromboli is also super tasty and good! It was packed with cheese and meats and there was very little grease. It was the perfect Stromboli!
They do have an amazing program where you can buy a slice of pizza and not eat it. They will then give you a sticky note and you can place the note on the wall. Then if someone comes in that does not have the money they can use the sticky note to pay for their food and there is no judgement at all.
I highly recommend you try City Slice out. I am sure you will just love it and the pizza is awesome! -

We absolutely LOVED this place! BY FARRRR the best pizza in Gainesville!! A fellow Yelper suggested we check this out and we were not disappointed!
Food looked a little rough but that's because they keep it out and warm it up. Once it's warmed up it looks delicious!
I was worried about the "you get what you pay for" idea. Can a $1 slice REALLY be that great?? IT WAS!
Staff was sweet and friendly. Coke products and "specials" everyday! They also have calzones and Stromboli's!
THE COOLEST THING is the "Pay it forward" wall!! You pay $1 for a piece of pizza but instead of them giving you a pizza- they give you a sticky note that you place on the wall. Later, if you're hungry OR if someone can't afford it- they can pick up that sticky note and "buy" a piece!! -

A Yelp event that had everyone cheering for pizza. The folks were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. It was a low key event where we were all asked for additional ideas..... well Matthew got a boatload of them.
One thing about City Slice is people definitely cannot complain about the amount of cheese! I know, hard to believe, but it was the cheesiest. Also a nice variety from veggie to feta cheese pizza. Nice to try something different. -

Best pizza you'll find in Gainesville, and this is coming from someone who grew up eating the best of the best in NYC/NJ. In terms of dollar slice this is much higher quality than any regular dollar slice in nyc. The sauce is sweet with hints of basil and the dough is fresh even 30 minutes before close. The crust is just chewy enough but still maintains a good crunch. There's no reason to order pizza from anywhere else in Gainesville, if you want a good slice you have to check this place out.
